STUDIO & GARDEN |
Bill Godfrey makes his studio in a refurbished industrial building in Western
Pennsylvania near the banks of the Allegheny River. The space, considered “green”, was designed and built by Bill using recycled, vintage and found
materials. The studio overlooks his beautiful ever growing flower sculpture garden. Bill considers his studio’s open loft space "ideal" for creating
large-scale works of art. |
EDUCATION & TEACHING |
Bill received a B.A. in Art Education from Edinboro University, Edinboro, PA
where he received the Distinguished Alumni Award in 2003. He also completed a year of graduate work at Cranbrook Academy of Art, Broomfield Hills, Michigan.
Along with being an artist, Bill has vast experience as an art teacher. This includes teaching at the Carnegie Museum of Art where he conducted docent
tours and developed museum educational curriculums. |
ARCHITECTURAL SPACE |
Lightweight and colorful, Bill’s banners, fabric mobiles and installations
can dramatically enhance any space. He works closely with architects and designers in all phases of the design process to create “works of art” that become an integral part of the environment. |
ART FESTIVAL & EVENTS |
For many years, Bill has worked with Art Festivals across the United States. His services include fabricating street pole banners, entrance banners, custom tents and stage backdrops. He also designs and creates large kinetic sculptures, installations and children’s interactive activities. Festival directors call with a idea which begins a creative brainstorming session that can evolve into an artistic reality. |
CHILDREN'S ACTIVITIES |
For events, Bill specializes in creating interactive children’s activities
like fabric fishing ponds, butterfly trees, spinning art wheels, fantasy animal murals and walk through mazes. Working with Alcoa, he helped design and fabricate a Children's Education Maze which toured the United States, Europe,
the Middle East, South America, Africa and Asia. |
STARTING THE PROCESS |
Call or e-mail the artist with your ideas or needs then after a consulting
session, he’ll provide a proposal including drawings, model and budget. Theme, insight, colors, size, blueprints or photos of the space will be helpful. |
ARTIST STATEMENT |
Besides an artistic vision, Bill believes that his "love of working with all types of people" is the important key to his success. He looks forward to hearing from you... |
